Funny Money

Funny Money

Being broke can be a drag!

If you love a gay parade – and who doesn’t? And you can’t resist a clueless caper and a reckless romp through San Francisco, then FUNNY MONEY is the comical novel for you! AJ Billingsley needs cash, and she needs it now. If she doesn’t come up with money for her past rent, she’ll be evicted, and so will her roommate, Kim. Before these queer friends get tossed out in the street, they hatch a crazy plan to storm the San Francisco Mint and steal enough freshly printed Ben Franklins to guarantee they both live happily ever after. Their drag queen housemate helps them disguise for the scheme, and nothing can stop them from pocketing the easy money. Unfortunately, they didn’t consider the reinforced concrete building, the razor wire fence, or the 850,000 participants of the 2004 San Francisco Pride Parade.

BK Wells is a San Francisco writer whose novels include Nothing To Fear and Semi-Sweet Revenge. Wells also wrote book & lyrics for the musicals United We Tweet and Deuce.
