Rising From the Ashes

Rising from the Ashes:

A Rookie Cop's Second Chance at Life

Can one moment really change your life? It can if that moment is miraculously surviving a plane crash.

On the way to his godson’s christening in his home country of Poland, Krzysztof suddenly found himself in a life-or-death situation that caused him to re-evaluate his entire existence. When his plane made an emergency landing, it wasn’t just that his life flashed before his eyes—it was that he found life unsatisfactory. In what he thought were his last moments on earth, Krzysztof found himself full of questions. Have I really accomplished what I wanted in my life? Am I proud of how I’ve lived and what I’ve done? When his life did not, in fact, end, it felt like a second chance to get things right. Suddenly, time seemed precious, and he was determined not to waste any more of it.

This is the story of that second chance. Having survived that harrowing experience, Krzysztof left the world of business behind in search of a profession where he could make a bigger impact on the world around him. He believed that if he could save only one life, he would have earned that second chance. This led him to the path of law enforcement, where he joined the police force in Philadelphia, starting out as a beat cop and then working his way to sergeant. Every day on the force brought new challenges and heart-pounding stories. The job asked him to run toward danger, toward explosions, fires, and the sound of gunshots.

The book includes moments of triumph and valuable learning experiences, ranging from making discretionary arrests to the simple act of ensuring the brake is on before you leave a squad car. At the center of it all are the people Krzysztof has encountered—yes, the ones who had broken the law, but also the ones that needed help. As the Krzysztof recounts the ways he’s tried to make the world a better place, one person at a time, and everything he’s learned along the way, you might find yourself inspired to reconstruct your own life and make it the way you always wished it could be.

Brittany Buckles

Brittany Buckles

Brittany has always been expected to become a trophy wife to further the family business. Her mother always introduces her to men who fit the Buckles standards. Clean cut, well dressed, educated and from a respected family. However these men are always shallow and selfish, never piquing her interest

When Brittany tracks down an upset customer to his house, she is surprised when he answers the door wrapped only in a towel. Even though he’s the exact opposite of the Buckles standards, she quickly finds herself drawn to him.

Jack has been content on his own for years now. He is wary that a beautiful sexy woman from a powerful family is interested in him. Usually this type of woman would never give him the time of day, so why are they so compatible?

Everything seems to be going great for them, that is until her family finds out.

TAG YOU'RE IT!

TAG YOU'RE IT!

Must read 🏆

Your child will love the story and acting it out, too. In other words, get ready to read and run!

SYNOPSIS

Definitely more than just a game. An exciting story for children and adults alike, "Tag You’re It!" explores life’s ups and downs through a simple game that’s been enjoyed through the ages. As father and daughter enjoy their nightly routine of playing tag, the conflict caused by ending the game each night, and the insight that can be gained, is celebrated in something as simple as a game of tag.

When I was younger, I recall playing two variations of tag every day on the playground: original and freeze. I had all the energy in the world and never wanted recess to end. Fast forward to adulthood, and I'm playing the game with my children, like the father in the story Tag You're It! by Jonathan Tyler Barnett.

Children grow up too fast; before you know it, they'll want to hang out with their friends instead of their parents. Or, they'll be off to work or college. Or they are starting a family of their own. Tag You're It! shows how a father makes the most of his child's younger years. It also shows how exhausting it is to keep up with a child who seems to have a tank full of gas 24-7. Kids are always on the move indoors and outdoors once they take their first step. I can empathize with the dad's need to sit down and request a change in games. I was tired just watching them run around their home.

I adored the illustrations by Penny Weber. They truly brought the story to life. I could practically hear Sadie's infectious giggle as her father chased after her. The father and daughter love each other very much, which shows in the adorable drawings. It's also apparent in the images that the mom loves watching these two play together. As a mom, I also love watching my children play with their dad.

Tag You're It! was a true delight to read. The story's core was only twenty-two pages short, making it the perfect size read for toddlers through four years of age. This story would also be an ideal choice for beginning readers.

Your child will love the story and acting it out, too. In other words, get ready to read and run!

The Power of Thought

The Power of Thought

The method of healing the inner child and transforming negative thoughts - The key to success

I am Silke Ritzel, 55 years old, married and mother of two children. With this book I would like to encourage you to think about the following questions.

Who am I? What am I? What am I doing here? The answers to these questions are deeply rooted within you, and everyone has their own answers.

I realized that in order to get answers to my questions, my lifestyle and beliefs needed to change. Like most people, I was on the hamster wheel, and I had no idea that a very different path was meant for me, and each of us.

Before I woke up, a tragic event occurred in my life. From that moment I realized that I had to say goodbye to my TV in order to have more time for the important things in life. I started to change, more and more, because I made myself independent from many things, be it coffee, nicotine, alcohol, medicine. I also changed my diet to a vegan one. Through these many changes, I became a different person. My senses became much more intense and I am healthier and happier than ever before.

About three years ago, I decided to turn my back on Germany to stay in the Philippines for a longer period of time. Unfortunately, I could not convince my family to do so, and so, with a heavy heart, we parted ways. It was a difficult and hard decision for me to leave my family and friends, simply my whole life, behind me.

But from this point on, no one could stop me, because my decision was made. I only follow my heart and courageously go my own way.

When I first arrived in the Philippines, the friendliest country in the world, I felt like I had always belonged here.

My book is meant to inspire you to change your old, negative beliefs into positive ones. You will quickly realize that your life will also change for the better. I also guarantee that this inner work will be worth it for you, and you will not regret it.

Read this book if you are ready to free yourself from old shackles and live a happy, self-determined and healthy life.
